AI-generated content must be clearly identified where required by platform guidelines, legal requirements, or communication standards. However, implementation differs depending on the platform and use case.
We distinguish between two approaches:
- Content-level labeling
Direct labeling applied to an image, interface element, or individual piece of content.
- Platform-level disclosure
A general disclosure statement placed on a website or platform explaining that AI-generated content or imagery is used.
For HARTMANN websites, AI-generated content is disclosed through a contextual note on the website. For photorealistic images and videos that could be mistaken for real photography or footage, this note is not sufficient on its own — these assets additionally carry a label directly on the content itself (rendered automatically via the CMS).
Two approved AI labeling elements are available for applications where direct labeling is required.
